Job Description


The Technical Director (“TD”), serves International Family Church (“IFC”), as the most senior staff member of the Production Department. The TD is directly responsible for all aspects of technically producing IFC’s services, conferences and other events (“Events”) at all of IFC’s campus and offsite locations. He/She is also directly responsible for building and maintaining the department staff and equipment needed to support all events of International Family Church.


In addition to filling the role as TD, he also takes on a secondary role as Audio, Video and Lighting (“AVL”) Project Manager. As the AVL Project Manager, she/he is directly responsible for project design, vendor selection, budgeting, scheduling management and project financial goals. As the AVL Project Manager, he/she reports directly to the Lead Pastor.


Experience Preferred




  • Minimum five years experience with complex professional video production systems including the setup, operation and maintenance of video switchers, live multi-camera setups, video routers, live streaming technology, IMAG technology, wireless video technology, production communication systems and video engineering concepts in both live and studio based environments.  




  • Experience with the setup, operation and maintenance of PA systems including digital audio consoles, managing input lists, stereo and multi-track recording technology, speaker technology, wireless microphone and IEM systems, and digital audio technologies including DANTE and MADI. 




  • Experience lighting for video in both live and studio based environments. 




  • Experience mixing audio in live environments, audio for live stream and audio for video in studio applications.




  • Ability to manage and maintain a digital audio and video archive. 




  • Experience with using digital cinema cameras in both live and studio based environments with a strong understanding of lens technology, digital cinema theory, and advanced camera operation techniques. 




  • Ability to set up, maintain and organize wireless audio technologies and frequencies consisting of multiple wireless microphone and In Ear Monitor systems. 




  • Experience organizing and maintaining a large inventory of AVL gear including all supporting equipment and maintenance schedules. 




  • Ability to coordinate with the Worship Department and provide solutions to support their goals. 




  • Must have strong leadership instincts and a proven track record of leading high quality individuals












Essential Functions and Responsibilities




  • Oversee the setup, operation and maintenance of all IFC audio, video and lighting systems.




  • Coordinate service details with Creative Director, Worship Director and Music Director




  • Manage Audio, Video and Lighting Team Leaders




  • Work with Pastor, Executive Director and Leadership Team to provide AVL solutions for ministry goals. 




  • Ensure the AVL quality of the worship and sermon experience at all campuses




  • Build relationships with AVL vendors




  • Research new technologies and assess how they can work within the vision and goals of IFC.
