Job Description

Position:�Lead Pastor
Time:�Full-Time
Qualifications:
- Graduate of Divinity from an Evangelical Seminary or Bible College.
- Ordained by an evangelical denomination and will commit to becoming an ordained minister under the Evangelical Free Church denomination if a call to serve is offered and accepted.
- Agreement with Evangelical Free Church statement of faith.
- Commitment to the truth of God�s Word, the Scriptures as the primary guideline for faith and life.
- Personal commitment to the Lordship of Jesus Christ. Authentic faith, honesty, an ever-deepening relationship with Jesus. Knowledgeable and grounded in God�s Word.
- Personal characteristics of gentleness, self-control, knowledge of God�s Word, spiritual maturity, personal prayer, spiritual leadership and allowing the leading of the Holy Spirit.
- High standard of personal integrity and accountability.
- A strong desire to reach the lost.
- Compassion for people of all ages. Being able to forge relationships with all people.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Leadership:�Serve as member of the leadership team; elders and council. Provide leadership and administrative oversight for the overall ministry of the church. Encourage and mentor staff and leadership team.
Preaching:�Present God�s Word with grace and in a truthful, meaningful, relevant and applicable way that all can understand. Being able to stand in God�s Word with gentleness not with political correctness nor agendas.
Equipping:�Build on strengths of others and work collaboratively with leadership team, staff and congregation. Encourage, equip and support ministry teams, leaders and volunteers to develop their spiritual gifts and implement the vision of the church.
Discipleship:�Encourage and engage the congregation to grow as intentional followers of Jesus through studying the scriptures, prayer, worship, service and outreach. Train and encourage the congregation to share the Gospel and make new disciples in Christ.
Pastoral Care:�Cultivate and grow relationships in the congregation and in the community. Encourage, minister and counsel. Participate in pastoral services and events: baptisms, premarital counselling, weddings and funerals.
Community Partners:�Actively pursue and develop ongoing partnerships with area churches and other like-minded ministries to work towards a wider impact in our community for Christ.
Personal Care:�Maintain personal development and accountability in all aspects of life: spiritual, physical, intellectual, emotional, relational and financial.
