Director of Adult Choir and Seasonal Chamber Orchestra



Position:              
Director of Adult Choir and Seasonal Chamber Orchestra 


Status:                  Part-time (paid hourly)


Reports to:          Director of Music and Worship


Purpose:              To enhance the LoC worship experience by leading these auxiliary ensembles during appropriate worship services.

Adult Choir Duties & Responsibilities



  • Perform ~10x/year in Sunday worship (both services) and in special worship services (T’giving Eve, Xmas Eve, Ash Wed, Good Fri, and Easter Sun)

  • Conduct rehearsals one night a week, mid-Aug through mid-May, with weeks off after Xmas and Easter

  • Regularly consult and update the church calendar to maintain vision for all related events

  • Recruit for the ensemble

  • Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Music and Worship (Josh Jones)

  • Communicate and collaborate with the Adult Choir Accompanist (Sharon Phillips)

  • Communicate and collaborate with the Worship Production Coordinator (Jack Belford)


Seasonal Chamber Orchestra Duties & Responsibilities



  • Perform 2x/year: Xmas Eve and Easter Sun

  • Conduct at least 8 rehearsals (4 preceding each performance)

  • Regularly consult and update the church calendar to maintain vision for all related events

  • Recruit for the ensemble

  • Communicate and collaborate with the Director of Music and Worship (Josh Jones)

  • Communicate and collaborate with the Worship Production Coordinator (Jack Belford)

  • Strong personal faith in Jesus Christ

  • Appropriate musical skills for reading, singing, directing, and conducting

  • Able to communicate effectively to large groups of volunteers

  • Ability to work in a team setting/collaborate with volunteers and staff

  • Positive role model and relational skills

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Ability to have and respect personal boundaries; respect and uphold confidentiality


Remuneration


The weekly work requirement will average about 4-5 hours per week for 9 months of the year (mid-Aug through mid-May).  There will be fewer hours for some weeks and more hours for others.  The pay is $120-150/week.
