Lake Deaton UMC is seeking an enthusiastic, well-qualified and dependable candidate to serve as our Worship Arts Leader. We are looking for someone with a collaborative spirit and an authentic presence in worship as they lead. The Worship Arts Leader will recruit, develop, equip, and lead all aspects of worship. Candidates will have a minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. Degree (Bachelors or Masters), training, or certification in music ministry or a related field, are appreciated. Skills in selecting and adapting both traditional hymns and contemporary music are a must. The primary role of this position is to lead and develop the worship music ministry at Lake Deaton UMC. This includes leading worship on Saturday afternoon and Sunday mornings as well as developing teams and leaders for the ministry. We are a church who is committed to a ministry of radical love, service, and growth, and we are looking for a Worship Leader who is passionate about worship and who can help us embody that mission.
What you’ll be doing:
Collaborate with the pastors to organize and lead worship services (Blended and traditional), including special worship services throughout the year
Give vision and leadership to creative arts to ensure worship reflects and supports the mission, vision, and values of Lake Deaton UMC
Recruit and/or develop Worship team members (Praise band, choir, small ensembles)
Disciple worship team members both corporately and individually
Develop multi-media for worship services including but not limited to song presentations, announcements, video presentations, and sermon notes
Assist in communicating/teaching worship to the congregation
Ensure all live stream media happens weekly
Maintain and repair all instruments and music related equipment
In conjunction with Worship Core team, create and manage Worship budget
Recruit, train and empower a team of volunteers in the use of all audio, visual, lighting and other media devices for worship services in conjunction with our technology specialist.

Have a heart to live missionally, not simply try to “do church”
Leadership
Ability to teach parts and help others get better as musicians and vocalists
