Job Description

Purpose & Scope:


To model, support and catalyze the disciple-making and sending mandate to district leaders.


General Expectations:



  • To live a life that models being a disciple of Jesus by:

  • Serving in your ministry role by providing spiritual, ministry and administrative leadership for the accomplishment of The Alliance Northwest’s mission and the effectiveness of its ministries. This may include:

    • Praying for others

    • Leading or assisting with worship, prayer, or delivering the sacrements

    • Discipleship





  • Support the leadership and staff, while maintaining beliefs and practices in unity with the ANW’s vision and beliefs. 

  • Living a balanced life with healthy rhythms of work and rest.

  • Bringing a courageous and teachable/learning heart to your role on the team.




Outcomes


Bookkeeping



  • Assist with monthly payroll and monthly taxes

  • Assist with accurate and adequate financial records of income and expenses

  • Assist with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable

  • Provide monthly receipts for churches and annual receipts for all donations

  • Assist with the Quarterly and Year-End Tax statements


Human Resources



  • Assist with benefit administration

  • Assist with employee administration


General Business



  • Assist with the maintenance of all licenses and requirements for federal, state and local agencies, including but not limited to: General Liability Insurance, Property Tax Exemptions, State Reporting

  • Assist with additional reporting as needed


Staff



  • Attend staff meetings and staff fun days/retreat (if possible)

  • All-Hands-On-Deck Events:  Renew and District Conference (if possible)




EXPERIENCE:



  • Background in bookkeeping, QuickBooks and general accounting concepts for the church.

    • Accounting degree (a minimum of a Bachelors degree required)

    • At least three years of church finance experience

    • Excellent understanding of accounting concepts

    • At least five years of experience with QuickBooks

    • Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office

    • Knowledge of government regulations in running a business preferable





  • Demonstrates the spiritual calling, giftedness, and maturity required of a ministry leadership within the C&MA.
