Job Description

Purpose: Provide visionary leadership and oversight to the Children's Ministry (birth-6th grade)

Reports to: Lead Minister

Oversight of Children's Ministry Leadership Team

Hours: 25-30 hours per week

Responsibilities (Primary):

1. Develop a clearly defined vision and stragegy for discipleship within the Children's Ministry that works in conjunction with the overall vision and ministry of MCC.


2. Build a solid Kid's MInistry that includes, but is not limited to, Biblical teaching, Bible verse memorization, and understanding of key Bible stories.


3. Develop a Children's Ministry Leadership Team consisting of Key committed and gifted volunteers.


4. Promote over-all ministry and events with kids and parents publically and through church publications and social media.


5. Lead, recruit, train, and develop volunteers for the Children's ministry.


6. Develop and implement strategies for whole-family discipleship; working with families to equip and empower parents/families to disciple the children.


7. PRovide oversight and planning for all aspects of Children's Ministry programming, including:
   
   
   
   1. Sunday morning Children's worship
   
   
   2. Mid-week programming
   
   
   3. Outreach events
   
   
   4. Family events
   
   
   5. Special summer programs
   
   
   6. Curriculum selection/development for all programming
   
   
   
   


8. Provide oversight to Children's Ministry budget and help develop the budgetary needs for upcoming years.


9. Provide shared oversight and partnership with our ministry to children and student with special needs.


10. Work with Student Minister to set expectations for Biblical knowledge kids should possess by the time they enter the student (teen) program.

1. Work as a team player with the rest of the ministerial and support staff. This includes making every effort to attend all staff functions (meetings, retreats, planning sessions, etc...)


2. Participate and provide support and leadership in church-wide events, even if they do not directly affect the Children's Ministry.
