Children’s Ministry Director for First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City, Utah


First Presbyterian Church of Salt Lake City is seeking a part-time Children’s Ministry Director.  This role includes preparing curriculum for Sunday School, recruiting and training Sunday School teachers, teaching, planning family activities, long term vision for Bible education, planning and leading Vacation Bible School once per summer, working with pastors on family care, and participating in staff meetings.  The Children’s Ministry Director needs to have a love for God, children, and the Bible.  A secondary or college level biblical education is preferred.  The position is 20 hours per week, salary starting at $23,000.

 Extended Job Description (20 hours/week):


 The Children’s Ministry Director for FPCSLC oversees Christian Education for kids from birth-5th grade and is responsible for the following:



  • Praying for First Pres kids and their families

  • Coordinating and teaching Children’s Sunday School

  • Recruiting, training, and scheduling volunteers

  • Planning family activities & children’s events throughout the year

  • Long-term vision for children’s Bible education

  • Planning and leading Vacation Bible School once per summer

  • Working with pastors on discipleship & care to FPC families

  • Participating in weekly staff meetings

  • Writing the Children’s Ministry article for the newsletter every other month


 Preferred Qualifications:



  • A love for God, children, and the Bible

  • Secondary or college level Biblical education preferred

  • Ministry or teaching experience that involves working with children and families

  • Relational and team-building skills, both with staff and volunteers

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Theological commitment that is consistent with the mission and values of FPC
