Job summary:  

Church of the Redeemer is a thriving Anglican church in Nashville’s Oak Hill neighborhood.  Our parish is multi-generational with a thriving children’s ministry. We have approximately 130 children and an average Sunday attendance of 75 children.  We value direct ministry to children and active support of families.

Responsibilities and Duties:  
- Evangelize and catechize the children of the parish, infant through 5^th grade, in word and sacrament, in partnership with their parents/guardians and the rest of the church.  
- Select and implement curriculum for ages K through 5^th grade in accordance with Anglican theology, values, beliefs, and practices.
- Recruit and train children’s ministry lay leaders
- Plan and lead special children’s ministry events such as the Christmas pageant and Creation Care Camp and other activities and events that foster the church’s ministry to children


- Work with staff and clergy to integrate children’s ministry with the life of the whole church

- Collaborate with Youth Pastor to catechize and spiritually nurture children of all ages in line with the overall mission and vision of Church of the Redeemer
- Attend weekly staff meetings and monthly vestry meetings

- Develop relationships with parents and children within the parish
- Participate in the life of the parish beyond children’s ministry events
-Individual meetings with families of the parish and/or small groups of children, as needed

- Maintain the practical and logistical needs of the Children’s ministry
- Communicate regularly with church leadership and the congregation as a whole
- Coordinate childcare and supervise workers for Sunday mornings and midweek church meetings
- Maintain and oversee the Children’s ministry budget
- Manage the children’s ministry physical space and supplies
- Ensure child safety policies are followed

- Other tasks as assigned by the Rector.

Personal and Professional Qualifications and Skills

- Personal, active, and growing relationship with God that includes understanding and experience of the Gospel, and ability to articulate the good news of Jesus Christ
- Maturity of faith, wisdom, kindness, leadership, and integrity
- Knowledge of Scripture and child and faith development
- Self-motivated and able to work well as part of a staff team
- Excellent communication skills.
- Liturgical church/Anglican church background preferred
