Zion Church, a United Methodist congregation located in (West) York, Pennsylvania, is looking for their next Youth Pastor/Director. This is a full-time position.

York, Pennsylvania, known as “the White Rose City,” is the county seat and a growing community. The eleventh largest city in the state, York is home to a wide variety of companies and industries, including: Harley-Davidson Motorcycle, York Barbell, two major manufacturers of hydro-power turbines (Voith and American Hydro companies), and Johnson Controls, along with many others. The city of York also boasts a number of theatres, where shows by local, as well as national acts and performers can be enjoyed.

Zion Church is located in West York, along Carlisle Avenue (Route 74). Immediately surrounding the church is a residential community, and the West York Junior and Senior High Schools. Within walking distance are numerous stores and shopping areas. As a congregation, we firmly believe that God has placed us here to be a beacon of mission and ministry to our local community and beyond. In other words, there is a great mission field and ministry right outside the church doors and extending throughout the neighboring areas. A mission field in which we want all of the ministries of Zion Church to be engaged in ministry toward.

Zion Church is looking for a Youth Pastor/Director who has a call to ministry and is passionate about ministering to students in grades 6 - 12, as well as their families. Zion currently features a vibrant youth ministry, for both junior and senior high students, as well as a team of passionate, equipped adult volunteers who are actively engaged in ministry to Zion’s youth. During the pandemic, Zion’s youth pastor and the youth ministry team have continued to creatively minister to the youth and their families both online and in-person. The group recently returned from an inspiring spring retreat, “Encounter,” and will be going on a mission trip in July 2021. The ideal candidate should have a passion and the ability to help the students of Zion Church to grow in their faith, so as to become the people that God wants them to be. The candidate should also have a missionary’s heart –– a desire and proven ability to connect with those who do not yet know Christ and are not yet a part of Zion Church, so as to help them come to know Christ, grow in faith, and connect with what God is doing in and through the ministries of Zion Church.
