General Description:


Heritage United Methodist Church is excited to announce its search for our next full-time Worship Director. The successful candidate will oversee engaging traditional worship and dynamic modern worship in a thriving community in Clearwater, Florida. Additionally, our ideal candidate will help us discover creative ways to share our message through music and art both online and in person. This delivery includes areas such as songs, specials, dramas, video, stage design.


 


This is a full-time, salaried position with benefits. Relocation expenses are negotiable. 


 


Experience in directing choirs and ensembles as well as leading contemporary worship teams and a commitment to Methodist teachings is required. Past familiarity using platforms like Facebook, Instagram Live, and/or TikTok for worship is preferred. Additionally, a degree in worship- or music-related field is preferred.


 


Weekly Responsibilities:



  • Leading and shepherding worship for multiple weekly services.

  • Oversee and coordinate all worship team members including vocalists and musicians and work in concert with the technical and media teams.

  • Provide tools, direction, clear communication, and support to all worship participants to ensure they are well prepared for worship services.

  • Work with the pastor to prepare an annual music budget, track and review budget status on a routine basis. 

  • Leading rehearsals and recruiting and scheduling musicians to help lead worship services.

  • Work with the pastor to cast vision for the future and set annual goals for the worship ministry, in line with the vision of Heritage. 

  • Attending worship meetings.

  • Abiding personal relationship with Jesus Christ

  • Belief and dedication to Heritage's vision of Loving, Learning, and Leading in their community.

  • Ability to lead with an instrument (preferably piano and/ or guitar) and coach others in their development.

  • Ability and experience in arranging and writing charts

  • A spirit of humility and collaboration with clergy, staff, and laity. 

  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and in necessary detail, both verbal and written.

  • Highly relational and very capable of providing effective leadership.

  • Ability to enhance positive team environment built on creativity, innovation, communication, collaboration, and continuous improvement
