ABOUT
Faith Community Church (Carlsbad, CA) is looking for a new Children’s Ministry Director to carry on the mission of our Creation Kids Ministry (nursery - 5th grade) as the current director transitions out of the role. The new director will continue to build on the current foundation, as well as develop new strategies to grow and minister to families. Weekly schedule is flexible to include office hours, staff meetings, and events as needed.
Part-time (approximately 18-25 hours/week)
$18-21/hour
Creation Kids classes are currently running on Sunday mornings, but look different due to California COVID guidelines in place.

DESCRIPTION
The duties of the Children's Ministry Director will include (but not be limited to):
-Oversee Sunday morning classes and operations, maintaining gospel-centrality, and an engaging, friendly atmosphere.
-Recruit, train, and equip volunteers to teach classes and reach kids.
-Oversee volunteer schedule and calendar.
-Enforce safety policies and procedures, and develop new ones when needed (ever changing COVID guidelines call for flexibility and quick adjustment when needed)
-Oversee all curriculum and ensure it is aligned with church’s doctrine and core values.
-Oversee and manage ministry budget.
-Maintain new visitor follow-up standards.
-Create and maintain loving relationships with families.
-Develop ways to equip parents as the primary disciplers of their children.
-Work with Lead Pastor to ensure that the children’s ministry embodies the church’s mission statement and current vision/goals.
-Oversee, screen, and schedule church childcare workers for specific needs/events.
-Attend staff meetings.
-Plan and oversee volunteer trainings and meetings.
-May include other work responsibilities as detailed from supervisor (Lead Pastor).
-May include events and Vacation Bible School (VBS) planning (dependent on weekly hours).
ROLE REQUIREMENTS
Education
-Bachelor’s Degree in biblical studies, Christian ministry, or children’s education/studies desired.
Experience
-Former Children’s Ministry experience desired.
-Believe that parents are the ultimate discipler of their children, and it is the role of children’s ministry to partner with and help equip parents in their God-given task.
-Commonly used computer/technology skills.
-Ability to create graphics, flyers, newsletters, emails, as needed.
-Familiarity with common social media platforms preferred.
-Familiarity with Planning Center Online preferred.
-Familiarity with Mac OS preferred.

-Has lived/does live locally and has a good understanding of southern California culture (preferred).
