Lake East Christian Church is a non-denomination church mainly consist of Chinese and Chinese-American families that are Bible-centered on the eastside of Lake Washington (located in Kirkland) across from Seattle. Centered around the cities of Bellevue (Amazon), Kirkland (Google), and Redmond (Microsoft, Facebook) that attracts families with kids of all ages. Position Overview    


Purpose:The Children Ministry Director is responsible for providing leadership, direction, support, and oversight of the children’s ministry, and communicates with church Elder & Deacon Board. 


Reports to:Education Deacon and Elders 


 


Required Qualifications:   



  • Be a Christian who is active and growing personal relationship with Jesus Christ, living example by action, attitude and behavior.   

  • Servant leadership with a passion to grow God’s Kingdom through Children Ministry and helping children to develop a personal relationship with God.  

  • Mature in faith and love for children and families. 

  • Teach and mentor children with patience and an accepting heart.   

  • Energetic, warm, and able to share the love of Jesus with children and their families. 



  • Models an enthusiastic leadership style that inspires confidence, develops people, and achieves results. 

  • Ability to be flexible and think creatively.   

  • Desirable to have previous experience with direction and administration of church Children’s Ministries. 

  • Effective communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal).   


 


Responsibilities:   



  • Oversee all programming and ministry for children ages pre-K through 5th grade. 

  • Choose and prepare curriculum for each program and each age level in coordination with the volunteering teachers.   

  • Recruit, train, lead, schedule, and pray for children’s ministry volunteers. 

  • Equip parents to be the primary spiritual leaders of their family. 



  • Plan and oversee special ministry programs and events. 

  • Promote the health and safety of all children and volunteers and ensure that all volunteers adhere to LECC Children Ministry policies.   

  • Create and effectively manage Children Ministry annual budget.   

  • Communicate consistently and effectively with parents/guardians of the children involved in LECC Children Ministry.   

  • Teach and visit classes for the purpose of evaluation and teacher support in order to address any issues or emergencies that arise.   



  • Uses appropriate child development knowledge to best meet the needs of LECC’s children in curriculum selection, child discipline, classroom grouping, etc.   

  • Work cooperatively with all volunteers.   

  • Other duties as assigned.   


 


Status:Full-Time   


Salary:Salary is commensurate with education, experience and accomplishments.

Schedule (approximate):   



  • Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday (9am till 5pm), Friday (2:30pm till 9:30pm)

  • Sunday (8:30am till 3:00pm)
