Job Description

Position Summary – The role bearing the title Director of Women’s Ministry & Care is designed to compliment the work of our elders in better serving the women of Redemption and the church as a whole. This role will be incredibly relational and operates out of the commitments to being present to God, herself, and others that call Redemption home. As will be expanded on below, there are three key pillars of expectation/success for this role: Care, Teaching, and Oversight/Administration.


Time Commitmentpart-time, 20 hours per week average.  Sunday availability required 45/52 Sundays per year.


Vacation – 3 weeks


SalaryRecommendation of $35K - $40K


Membership Requirement – As a member of our Staff, we are looking for applicants who will join our church family and become active members and participants in our faith-based community alongside their families. More than just a job position, the members of our Staff and their families are an important part of the heartbeat and fabric of our church community.


 


Responsibilities and Duties



  • General

    • Participates in weekly planning meetings with other staff

    • Present on Sundays

    • Regular communication / check-ins with overseeing elder/elders




 



  • Care

    • In similar fashion to how elders go about pastoral care, this will mean regular connection points each month (face to face, email, text, phone calls, etc.) with women inside of Redemption Church

    • The ability to listen and learn from women of different ages/stages within the church in order to provide care and planning that benefits the women in our church and community as a whole

    • The ability to provide a variety of counsel to women when needed (crisis, faith crisis, loss, relationship stress, etc.) and point them to Jesus, embracing the gospel, empowered by the Holy Spirit

    • Develop other mature women who are Redemption Church Members to help with the care and counsel of others

    • To organize and plan strategic opportunities that promote care and discipleship for women throughout the church (studies, connection events, etc.)

    • Encourages evangelism and models engagement of non-Christians

    • Regularly plan time and space for self-care and discipleship in order to best serve others




 


 



  • Teaching

    • With the assistance and oversight of staff elders, plan and teach women on a variety of relevant topics grounded in the bible/gospel. Frequency to be determined in coordination with elders.

    • Plan and participate in teaching/facilitating women’s studies along with general oversight of studies and developing/recruiting other leaders/hosts

    • Teaching in regard to development of other women leaders in the church




 



  • Oversight / Administration

    • Responsible for the general oversight and direction of all ministries that come under the umbrella of Women’s Ministry

    • Ensures Women’s Ministry aligns with the mission of Redemption

    • Runs ministry with excellence, timeliness, and careful planning

    • Planning of teachings, studies, events in coordination with staff elders

    • Establishes and develops teams as appropriate and necessary to support and expand women’s ministry




 


Skills & Qualifications



  • Agree with the Redemption Church Beliefs in line with gospel-centered (reformed) theology and commit to exhibit a lifestyle that is consistent with the same

  • Become and fulfill the duties of a Redemption Church member

  • Fulfill the character qualifications of a deacon (1 Tim 3)

  • Be a servant leader who is positive, self-directed, organized, detail-oriented, and able to multi-task

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills

  • Has a deep love and passion for the local church

  • Possess discernment and have the ability to keep confidentiality

  • Mature awareness. Conveys confidence and competence to care for and counsel women of all ages/stages within the church

  • History of active ministry leadership / volunteering
