Pastoral Qualifications

• Must be in harmony with the Christian and Missionary Alliance Statement of Faith which can be found at cmalliance.org/about/beliefs/doctrine


• Must be credentialed within one year of date of hire by the C&MA and/or pursuing


• Completion of 30 hours of Bible and/or theology from an accredited school


• Holds a Bachelor's Degree (required), or a seminary degree (preferred)


• Has positive past ministry experience (at least 5 years preferred)


• Models a passionate love for Jesus and people


• Devoted to prayer


• Has an open, humble and teachable spirit


• Able to accurately exegete Scripture


• Sermons delivered with scripture-based application to the contemporary Christian life


• Dynamic communicator and solid biblical preacher


• Capable of leading in defining, communicating and implementing a vision for Northwood


• Willing to fulfill the many and varied roles required of pastoring a small neighborhood church


• Applies the Word in ways that moves people to action, bringing about spiritual transformation


• Has a warm, relational personality with a healthy sense of humor and can laugh at himself


• Approachable


• Willing to delegate authority


• A team builder


• Invites accountability


• Values and models peacemaking and reconciliation


• Capable of bridging the generations, providing ministries for senior adults while attracting younger sin- gles and families


• Capable of developing an intentional discipleship pathway and leadership development plan


• Capable of developing strategies for connecting Northwood and the Blaine community


• Utilizes technology well
