LOVE AND UNITY KIDS ACADEMY (LUKA), INC.

Love & Unity Christian Fellowship, Compton, CA

Title: Preschool Academy Director


Reports to: LUKA Office Liaison, Love & Unity Christian Fellowship
Supervises: LUKA Staff
FLSA: Exempt

Job Purpose: The Director shall be a Christian who is living a Christ-centered life, willing and able to partner with staff and parents to
provide students with an excellent faith-based learning environment. In addition, the Director will design, implement, and monitor
program areas such as Early Childhood Education, community engagement, and family partnerships. The Director will lead LUKA in
maintaining a collaborative partnership with the Love and Unity Christian Fellowship.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Establish and implement Early Childhood Education curriculum. • Supervise and evaluate classroom and support staff. • Monitor areas
of child development and program design. • Ensure implementation and analysis of student assessments. • Work with staff to develop
and implement strategic plans and corrective action plans. • Manage and monitor annual budget. • Supervise staff in the development
of standard operating procedures and systems for effective program management. • Lead and manage multiple projects, which include
but are not limited to, collaboration with the community partners, parent orientation, and grant applications. • Assist in the selection andevaluation of appropriate instructional materials, supplies, and equipment. • Contingent upon Board approval, manage parent advisorygroup, parent education workshops, and related parent involvement activities. • Oversee the Nutrition Program to ensure programeffectiveness. • Knowledge and experience with computer-based recordkeeping, the use of internet and social networking for advertising,and promotion to expand enrollment and maintain funding.

EMPLOYMENT STANDARDS
Knowledge of: • Principles, techniques, and procedures for positive and reflective staff supervision. • Effective training methods for
staff. • Sections of the California Codes, Codes of Federal Regulations, and related laws and licensing guidelines. • Budget planning and
implementation. • Project management and strategic planning. • Effective verbal and written communication. • Principles of effective
leadership. • Bilingual in English and Spanish desirable.

QUALIFICATIONS
(May have a combination of the following) Education: • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Child Development or related field experience
• Three or more years of successful classroom teaching experience in Early Childhood Education; • Three or more years of successful
supervisory/administrative experience (Early Childhood Education experience in State, or Federal programs desired).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
The work requires walking, including stairs; standing; kneeling, and bending. On occasion, heavy lifting may be required, with a
minimum of 35 pounds. Full range of motion is needed, for example, interaction with children, notices posting, necessary cleaning
and/or preparation during daily activities.

environment is typically moderate. REQUIRED LICENSES AND/OR

CERTIFICATES: Possession of a valid California Driver’s
license and qualify for insurability; current and clear TB test; and meet all Community Care Licensing standards.
