The church accompanist will be a mature Christian reporting directly to the Pastor of Worship, Arts & Media under the leadership of the Senior Pastor to provide intentionally worshipful music support for the Macedonia New Life Church.


Responsibilities:



  • Serve as a member of the church’s band attending all rehearsals, and providing music for, but not limited to, worship services, extended worship services, and funerals.

  • In the absence of the Pastor of Worship, Arts & Media, will serve as lead musician guiding the choir and musicians during rehearsals and worship services.

  • Adhere to music ministry guidelines.

  • Assist in maintaining inventory of musical instruments.

  • Support the development of new aspects of worship.

  • Maintain familiarity and competence with all styles of music.

  • Schedule personal rehearsal time in preparation for rehearsals and worship services.

  • Participate in an annual evaluation.


Qualifications:



  • Proven record of regular, punctual attendance for rehearsals and services.

  • Must be able to primarily and skillfully play a piano or keyboard in all keys without the use of transposing.

  • Excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to read music.

  • Moderately skilled in teaching vocals.

  • Experience as a choir director (preferred but not necessary).

  • Proficient in playing other instruments (specifically Hammond Organ preferred).

  • Proven experience as a church musician.

  • Ability to work well with youth.

  • Proven experience in working with a diverse group (of musicians, singers, congregants).


Compensation shall be commensurate to qualifications.
