Job Description

The Summit Church is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as the Worship Director. If you are passionate about leading congregational worship, shepherding a team of volunteers, and pastoring within a vibrant church community, we invite you to apply for this exciting opportunity.

Job Summary
The Worship Director is a multi-faceted role — with an emphasis on both cultivating worship and pastoring our people. Primary responsibilities include supervising all musical elements of Sunday gatherings, weekly rehearsals, worship nights and any other ministry events that encourage musical worship. Additionally, this role will involve general shepherding and pastoral care for our church body. This includes regularly preaching, teaching, and offering pastoral counseling to members in need.  This is a full-time position that reports directly to the Director of Staff & Operations.

Primary Responsibilities:
Worship Oversight and Leadership: The Worship Director recruits and coordinates volunteers for the worship ministry, oversees Sunday gathering elements, and conducts both rehearsals and prayer gatherings. This role also organizes worship events, leads development sessions, oversees A/V components and manages all logistics and resources for the worship team.

Shepherding and Directing: The Worship Director models a life of worship for our church and disciples our congregation — and the worship team — in character, conduct, and biblical knowledge. This role helps ensure we all experience meaningful encounters with Christ through prayer and worship while also managing the planning and technical aspects of the service.

Preaching and Teaching: The Worship Director will be a contributing member of the preaching team on an as-needed basis. This role will provide theological guidance to the teaching ministry, while actively seeking and offering feedback on preaching within the church.

General Ministry: The Worship Director offers pastoral care, formation, and discipleship to church members. This role engages in weekly staff rhythms.
