POSITION OVERVIEW

Christ Chapel is seeking a Pastor of Creative Arts in Contemporary Worship. This newly created staff position requires proficiency in leading multidisciplinary teams responsible for our contemporary worship experiences. These teams are concentrated in the following areas:

• worship leaders�


• worship service programming


• video production


• audio/visual

Education Requirements

• Minimum four-year bachelor�s degree


• Seminary education preferred but not required

Experience Requirements

• 7+ years experience leading worship, video production and A/V teams in a local church


• Familiarity with ProPresenter and Planning Center, and live streaming services such as Living As One


• Demonstrated commitment to a local church, e.g. participated in Home Groups, service projects, etc.
  Managerial experience in supervising a team of at least 3 paid staff members for a minimum of 5 years


• Highly skilled vocal and musical talent with demonstrated gifts and experience for leading others in worship


• Deep desire and demonstrated ability and experience to equip the saints to use their gifts for worship


• Ability to recognize musical skills and develop individuals and teams


• Experience with multi-site church preferred but not required

This role is responsible for keeping Christ Chapel�s contemporary worship across four worship venues intentional, innovative and engaging while still retaining elements of Christ Chapel�s unique DNA. One of our Core Values is �excellence in every aspect of the ministry,� and so all worship elements should be planned and executed with excellence in mind.

Position Description

The Pastor of Creative Arts in Contemporary Worship will serve as an integral member of the Cabinet (pastoral and staff leadership) and directly report to the Lead Pastor to ensure that worship services reinforce the mission and purpose of Christ Chapel. The role requires a pastor�s heart combined with a creative spirit. Our ideal candidate will first be proficient in building and shepherding healthy staff teams, and second in creating services that provide a natural response of worship to hearing the Word of God.

Team Development

• Foster a culture of community and family within staff and volunteer teams


• Lead weekly creative team meeting with key staff


• Mentor and shepherd worship leaders and other creative staff in the department


• Develop systems to streamline communication


• Train and equip staff teams to recruit and train volunteers


• Foster a collaborative environment where contemporary worship leaders work with each other and with other departments

Worship Service Planning

• Coordinate weekly worship with Lead Pastor, Campus Pastors, Worship Service Coordinators, Worship Leaders, Communications Dept. and support teams


• Oversee planning and execution of all adult contemporary worship environments


• Develop an annual worship service calendar in tandem with the year�s pulpit schedule


• Determine creative elements for worship services and events that fit our DNA


• Manage use of our recording studio

Songwriting

• Lead team of worship leaders to write and produce original music


• Develop offsite writing retreats to plan and write


• Create a rhythm and process to help worship leaders maximize studio time


• Spend time studying songwriting trends and new technologies


• Provide worship leaders opportunities to grow as writers through conferences and other resources

Accountability

• Reports to the Lead Pastor and Elder Board of Christ Chapel
