Director of Children’s and Family Ministries

Center Grove Church is seeking a full-time director with a heart for ministry to children and
families and a deep desire to help children and families grow in their relationship with God
through Jesus Christ, empowered by the Holy Spirit.
The purpose of the Children’s and Family Ministry director is to lead, equip and support our
parents, families and volunteers to disciple children from infancy through the 8ᵗʰ grade to become
authentic followers of Jesus.

Qualifications:
A spiritually mature Christian who exhibits God’s character qualities
• A combination of experience and education that demonstrates sufficient qualifications to fulfill
the job requirements
• Demonstrates a commitment to their local church, serving faithfully in the congregation where
he/she actively worships
• Demonstrates leadership qualities and a proven track record of training, equipping and leading
volunteers in a church setting

Responsibilities:
• Create and implement a long-term ministry plan for children and families that leads them to a
deeper and lasting relationship with Jesus
• Nurture a warm and welcoming atmosphere that promotes connections between our church and the
community
• Develop and implement a plan to recruit, train and equip volunteers
• Encourage and equip family discipleship through building relationships with parents and families
and providing resources and training
• Oversee and facilitate implementation of weekly programming activities which include but are not
limited to:

• Oversee and implement the development of a comprehensive curriculum plan that aligns with Center
Grove Church’s statement of faith and facilitates spiritual growth
• Serve as an advocate and liaison between families and church staff and leadership
• Serve as a liaison between Center Grove Church and American Heritage Girls and Trail
Life
• Serve as ministry coordinator for Family Hope, a collaboration of area churches providing
supportive relationships for isolated families.
• Work with church staff and leadership to plan and execute opportunities and events that promote
connections and encourage spiritual growth such as Vacation Bible School, Winter Retreat, etc.
• Collaborate with staff and church leadership by participating in weekly staff meetings
• Maintain an informative and inviting presence on social media and the church website
• Coordinate with the youth minister to plan and implement retreats for the middle school
youth
• Prepare and administer an annual budget


Skills and Abilities:
• Proficiency with MS Office
• Strong interpersonal skills
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends
